Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator

Central Island Distributors Ltd. is looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join our busy Nanaimo head office.

As a Dispatcher, you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient daily operations by coordinating driver schedules, addressing on route issues and maintaining timely communication with teammates and customers.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, schedule and oversee daily dispatch to maximize efficiency and ensure on-time service

· Coordinate scheduling and routing of drivers and assigned equipment

· Communicate professionally with teammates, customers, and partner carriers

· Coordinate freight and equipment movement with our other terminals, carriers, and barge services

What We’re Looking For

· 1–2 years of experience in a dispatch or logistics role within the transportation industry

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

· Experience managing high volumes of email communication

· Strong customer service, time management and organizational skills

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail oriented environment

· Positive, approachable, and team oriented attitude

· Experience with trucking dispatch software preferred
